"Honoring
Three Silenced American Poets:
Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes, & Walt Whitman"
In
February of 2003, the White House cancelled a symposium entitled
“Poetry and the American Voice” designed to honor these three great
American poets. The reason given was that “poetry should not be political.”
We invite you to come and hear the work of
these great American Poets
who would not be silenced in their own lifetimes.
Featured Readers: Michael
Gushue, Kim Schraf, Dan Vera & Craig Wallace.

The
Dog night was extremely popular and will no doubt become a tradition.
We barely scratched the surface of dog poems that are out there.
The August reading was also a pleasure and the ice cream social afterwards was just right. That night came after what most agreed was one of the HOTTEST days in DC. So it was just what was needed.
